In its fourteen years, the Teaching Research Ethics Workshop (TRE) at Indiana University Bloomington has gained an international reputation for excellence, attracting over 500 participants from 42 states, the District of Columbia, and 13 foreign countries. We accept a maximum of 45 participants each year, to allow for extensive interaction among participants and between faculty and participants. Workshop evaluations always include effusive praise.

For the first three years of its existence, TRE received major funding from the United States Department of Education's Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education. When the grant expried, the Poynter Center organized the workshop to operate on fees and contributions from sponsors.

The sponsors of the 2008 workshop are listed above. Inquiries from institutions wishing to sponsor the workshop are welcome.

Sponsors contribute $1,250 to support the workshop, and must make a solid commitment to sponsorship by October 12, 2007. Payment of the sponsorship fee is due by November 2 , 2007.

Benefits of sponsorship

Sponsors receive a 50% discount on the workshop fee for two workshop participants. (Sponsors are welcome to send more than two participants, of course, but the discount will only apply to the first two.) We will reserve two workshop slots for sponsoring institutions until February 28, 2008, and send e-mail notifications to sponsors as the workshop fills up. Sponsors are listed on our direct-mail flyer, our Web site, and other workshop-related materials.
