Each year the Poynter Center for the Study of Ethics and American Institutions sponsors a team to travel and compete in the Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl. This year the format has expanded to two rounds. The first round involved teams competing in 8 regional competitions across the United States. The IU team competed in Indianapolis for the first round on November 11. The team was successful, which means they will compete in the national competition February 22 in Cincinnati. Mark Wilson, a graduate student in the Department of Religious Studies and a research assistant at the Poynter Center, is this year's coach. Richard Miller, director of the Poynter Center, is the team's advisor.
